Massa: "I couldn’t miss the Ferrari party"

Cheste, 14 November 2009 – The enthusiasm at the Ricardo Tormo di Cheste circuit (Valencia) is growing for the Finali Mondiali Ferrari. News about Alonso’s presence, who will be at the circuit tomorrow to greet the fans, made ticket sales grow and even today the effects were already visible. Around 4,000 people populated the paddock and the grandstands and the Ferrari Store stand was downright jam-packed: amongst the best sold items were the leather jackets and the Lap Time watches as well as "classics" like the cap with the Prancing Horse and the Scuderia shirts.

Meanwhile Felipe Massa arrived from Sao Paulo this morning. The Brazilian driver was finally able to take a seat in his F60’s cockpit again, to set up some details of the positioning with tomorrows show in sight. “I’m very happy to be here: I would have felt sorry if I had had to pass the occasion, it would have been the first time since I’ve been an official Ferrari driver that I had missed the Finali Mondiali,” Felipe told www.ferrari.com . "Furthermore it will be great to get back to driving my car, although tomorrow will be just a show. Tomorrow evening I’ll immediately return back home to be with Raffaela: the doctors confirmed yesterday that our child will not be born this weekend, so I decided to make this flying visit here in Spain.”

Tomorrow four Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro Formula 1 single-seaters will go onto the track. Behind the F60s wheels there will be Felipe Massa and Giancarlo Fisichella, while the official test drivers Luca Badoer and Marc Gené will drive the F2008. With the appearance of local hero Fernando Alonso the Ferrari 2010 team will be complete.

Valencia, 13 November 2009 – After receiving the message of Fernando Alonso’s presence at the traditional event at the end of the motorsport season for the Prancing Horse, the paddock at Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo circuit, completely tinged in red on the occasion of the Finali Mondiali Ferrari, is enthusiastic about the possibility of Felipe Massa’s appearance at this extraordinary event. The Finali Mondiali, for the first time held outside of Italy, offers the fans the opportunity to greet the complete 2010 team of the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro: the Brazilian driver will arrive from Sao Paulo to be next to his future teammate, the third driver Giancarlo Fisichella and the two test drivers Marc Gené and Luca Badoer.

Alonso at the Finali Mondiali in Valencia

Maranello, 13 November 2009 - Last Friday was Fernando Alonso's first working day at Maranello and today, there is more good news for all Ferrari fans. They will be able to welcome the Ferrari neophyte next Sunday in Valencia, where for the first time, the Finali Mondiali Ferrari, the event which traditionally brings to a close the Maranello marque's racing season, takes place outside Italy.

"We are pleased that Fernando will be able to attend what, for us, is a very important event," said Stefano Domenicali. "It will be a great opportunity for all our fans who will be able to give him a warm welcome and for Fernando, who, for the first time, will be able to see and experience an insider's view of the world of Ferrari. Alonso’s first day in Maranello

Maranello, 6 November 2009 – Today early in the morning, just after 8am. Fernando Alonso arrived at the gates of the Scuderia Ferrari for his first contact with the new team, although still not as an official member due to his contractual commitments regarding image management, which still tie him to his previous team and his sponsors.

The first meeting was with Stefano Domenicali, who then left him to the technicians, who started to work with the driver on the upcoming season’s programme. Between meetings connected to the new single-seater’s project Fernando visited the wind channel to see the model and worked on the sitting position in the car’s cockpit, while the day ended just after 5pm. Before leaving Maranello, Alonso was received by Chairman Luca di Montezemolo, who personally wanted to welcome the Spaniard at Ferrari in a cordially meeting of around half an hour.

Today’s intermezzo was a couple of laps on the Fiorano race track with the 458 Italia, naturally in red: as he couldn’t yet drive a red Formula 1 car Fernando wanted to feel the emotion of driving a Ferrari on the track where all the Prancing Horse’s single-seaters are born and raised.
